In the present thesis it is examined how much economic is to install a microgrid in the island of Crete, based on a big part in RES, then to be bought from the energy of National Electrical Company and finally to be sold to consumers. Also, in the thesis the software Homer is described that simulates the system operation using all energy calculations that have been estimated for the 8760 hours of one year.
