Μέθοδοι Επεξεργασίας Πόσιμου Νερού σε διάφορες πόλεις της Ελλάδας.

Abstract

Η εργασία αυτή παρουσιάζει τις εγκαταστάσεις επεξεργασίας νερού που αναλαμβάνουν την παροχή πόσιμου νερού στην Αθήνα, τη Θεσσαλονίκη, την Πάτρα και το Ηράκλειο. Κάθε μονάδα επεξεργασίας νερού (ΜΕΝ) διαφέρει στα στάδια επεξεργασίας που χρησιμοποιεί. Το διυλιστήριο πόσιμου νερού της Θεσσαλονίκης είναι το μοναδικό που χρησιμοποιεί κλίνες ενεργού άνθρακα και βέβαια οι διεργασίες παραγωγής πόσιμου νερού του διυλιστηρίου είναι περισσότερες από ότι στα διυλιστήρια της Αθήνας, της Πάτρας και του Ηρακλείου. Αντίστοιχα, το διυλιστήριο Σκαλανίου στο Ηράκλειο είναι το μοναδικό το οποίο χρησιμοποιεί προηγμένη τεχνολογία όπως η διήθηση με μεμβράνες υπερδιήθησης. Η πτυχιακή εργασία ολοκληρώνεται με τα συμπεράσματα όπου γίνεται μια σύντομη αναφορά των σημαντικών στοιχείων που πραγματεύτηκε η εργασία.

The aim of the present thesis is to present the water treatment plants (WTP) of the biggest cities of Greece. These cities are Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra and Heraklion. The content of the study includes a bibliographic review of the subject. Specifically, the present thesis refers to general information related to the status of water resources, the water properties and the water quality characteristics. In addition, is presented the Greek legislation which defines the limitations in relation with the quality of drinking water. The study refers to Athens’s, Thessaloniki's, Patra's and Heraklion's drinking water refinery. A detailed description of the refineries drinking water production processes are outlined. A description of water pretreatment methods, the mechanisms of flocculation, precipitation and sedimentation and the methods of water disinfection are analyzed. The processes of sedimentation plants and the methods of water disinfection are described. In all water treatment plants the common methods applied were coagulation, filtration and disinfection. The disinfection agents differed from plant to plant. The WTP of Thessaloniki consisted of more treatment steps than the others. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is commonly employed as an adsorption media in many surface water treatment plants, one of them is the refinery of Thessaloniki's. Ultrafiltration membranes are used by the refinery of Heraklion. This technology is unique drinking water systems in Greece.
