Τεχνολογία DVB: θέματα κινητικότητας και ραδιοκάλυψης.

Abstract

Στη συγκεκριμένη εργασία παρουσιάζεται η διαδικασία εξέτασης θεμάτων διαχείρισης κινητικότητας – με έμφαση στο handover (εναλλαγή κυψέλης) σε DVB-H συστήματα μέσω αλλαγών στις παραμέτρους σχεδίασης σε φυσικό επίπεδο.

Several standards for digital broadcast systems have been developed, especially for small, portable devices like cellular phones and PDAs. Among them is the Digital Video Broadcasting>Handheld (DVB-T) standard, which is largely based on the corresponding terrestrial DVB (DVB-T) standard. However, in a mobile environment, the broadcast networks have to tackle a new set of issues, including device mobility and service continuity at network cell borders. Taking into account the aforementioned framework, the aim of this thesis is to present mobility issues with emphasis on handover, as well as to examine the effect of various planning parameters for the successful deployment of the offered services. In particular, by the use of a DVB-H coverage simulator, area plots for the power received, the mean received C/I, service coverage, interference power, etc, for various system parameters (transmitter power, network topology, frequency, etc.) are presented.
