The present thesis examines and compares two methods of inverse digital filter design. The aim of the filters is the cancellation of the crosstalk and speakers’ position with respect to the listener’s head, in order to achieve binaural signal reproduction over stereo speaker system. The crosstalk and the speakers’ position are the main inhibitor factors for binaural reproduction over loudspeakers. The methods, this thesis examines, are the Fast deconvolution using regularization and the least means squares (LMS). The main difference between these two methods, is the way of the filter construction. The filter design process, using the method of Fast deconvolution using regularization, is performed in the frequency domain, in difference with the LMS method in which the filter process is performed in time domain. For the implementation of the inverse filters was used Matlab software. The binaural audio files that were used in the experiment, passed through the inverse filters, in order to create virtual audio images. The construction of the filters has been based on the above two methods. The experimental process, in which participated 15 random subjects, comprised a listening test of comparison between a virtual acoustic image and a real source. Finally presented statistical analysis of the listening tests’ results and conclusions.en
