Υποδομές τηλεμάθησης.

Abstract

Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία ασχολείται με το θέμα της τηλεκπαίδευσης και στόχος της είναι η μελέτη αυτής, ο τρόπος εφαρμογής, τα οφέλη που προσφέρονται και οι κοινωνικές και οικονομικές επιπτώσεις που πιθανότατα θα έχουμε. Συγκεκριμένα: Το 2ο Κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται για την έννοια της τηλεκπαίδευσης και τις μορφές της. Στη συνέχεια, γίνεται μια αναφορά στο παρελθόν και στο σήμερα. Αναλύονται, οι στόχοι της τηλεκπαίδευσης, τα πλεονεκτήματα της, τα μειονεκτήματα της καθώς και τους κινδύνους που αυτή κρύβει. Στο τέλος του κεφαλαίου, εστιαζόμαστε και αναλύουμε την ασύγχρονη μορφή της τηλεκπαίδευσης. Το 3ο Κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται στις τεχνολογίες και τις αρχιτεκτονικές ανάπτυξης που χρησιμοποιούνται γενικά στην τηλεκπαίδευση. Το 4ο Κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται στο ελεύθερο-ανοικτό λογισμικό. Το 5ο Κεφάλαιο περιγράφει και παρουσιάζει την πλατφόρμα ασύγχρονης τηλεκπαίδευσης του ΤΕΙ ΚΡΗΤΗΣ. Το 6ο Κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται στα συμπεράσματα. Τέλος, το 7ο Κεφάλαιο αναφέρει τη βιβλιογραφία που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για την διεκπεραίωση της εργασίας. Ακολουθούν τα παραρτήματα, εκ των οποίων το πρώτο αναφέρει παραδείγματα ελληνικών ακαδημαϊκών ιδρυμάτων που παρέχουν υπηρεσίες τηλεκπαίδευσης. Το δεύτερο αναφέρει παραδείγματα επιχειρήσεων που προσφέρουν υπηρεσίες τηλεκπαίδευσης. Το τρίτο αναφέρει και περιγράφει διάφορες πλατφόρμες τηλεκπαίδευσης που έχουν αναπτυχθεί μέχρι σήμερα. Το τέταρτο παρουσιάζει τη βάση δεδομένων για ένα μάθημα, για το σύστημα e-class που έχει αναπτυχθεί στα εργαστήρια του Τομέα μαθημάτων Επιστήμης Υπολογιστών και για την Claroline (πλατφόρμα που χρησιμοποιείται). Τέλος, το πέμπτο παράρτημα περιλαμβάνει ένα γλωσσάριο ελληνικών και αγγλικών όρων (λεξικό).

This present dissertation focuses on the various aspects of E-learning and its aim is to focus on a depth study related to the subject and various methodologies which apply. In addition, it focuses on the social and economical consequences which probably occur because of this tool. Specifically: The 2nd chapter refers to the significance of E-learning and its forms. In addition, a reference of how this facility applied in the past and how it applies today is provided. An analysis of which are the objectives of E-learning is also provided, along with the advantages, the disadvantages and the dangers, which apply. In the end of this chapter, the author focuses and analyses the asynchronous form of E-learning. The 3rd chapter refers to the various technologies and methodologies which are utilized for the development of an E-learning tool. The 4th chapter refers to the free-open software. The 5th chapter illustrates and presents the asynchronous E-learning platform of the Crete TEI (Technological Educational Institute). The 6th chapter refers to the conclusions and assumptions made by the author. Finally, the 7th chapter provides to the reader of this dissertation the various bibliography and websites, which were utilized in order to assist the author to complete her final year project. In the appendices sector, the first appendix describes how E-learning works in Greece's various Higher Educational and Technological Institutes. The second appendix reports examples of enterprises or companies that provide E-learning services. The third appendix illustrates what kind of E-learning platforms have been developed until today. The fourth appendix focuses on the importance of databases in specific modules of various courses, which have been developed in the Computer Science sector for Claroline. Claroline is a platform which is used by Higher Academic Institutes in Greece (Universities, Polytechnics and Technological Institutes) and their students for E-learning purposes. The fifth and final appendix of this dissertation contains a dictionary of Greek and English terms which are used by this facility and are somehow related to Information Technology.
