Δημιουργία εργαλείου για την κατασκευή διαγωνισμάτων.

Abstract

Η συγκεκριμένη πτυχιακή, παρουσιάζει ένα εργαλείο Ηλεκτρονικής δημιουργίας διαγωνισμάτων, που ονομάζεται TEST CREATOR. Απευθύνεται σε εκπαιδευτικούς και δημιουργήθηκε για να τους διευκολύνει, στην εξεταστική διαδικασία. Είναι μια πλατφόρμα που προσανατολίζεται στο να δώσει τη δυνατότητα στους χρήστες της να δημιουργήσουν ένα εργαλείο εξέτασης με διαφορετικό τρόπο από τους μέχρι υπάρχοντες. Επίσης, δίνει την δυνατότητα απόλυτης εξατομίκευσης στον εκπαιδευτικό και τον διευκολύνει στο να κερδίζει χρόνο και προσπάθεια κατά την εξεταστική διαδικασία, δημιουργώντας εύκολα και με απλό τρόπο, διαγωνίσματα. Το TEST CREATOR, δημιουργήθηκε με μια διαδικτυακή εφαρμογή, που χρησιμοποιεί τη γλώσσα προγραμματισμού την PHP. Λόγω του ότι θέλαμε να αποθηκεύονται όλες οι πληροφορίες που χρειάζονται, έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιηθούν βάσεις δεδομένων. Για την δημιουργία των απαιτούμενων βάσεων, χρησιμοποιήθηκε το σύστημα διαχείρισης βάσεων δεδομένων, SQL.

This specific thesis, presents a tool for the electronic test creation, which is called TEST CREATOR. It is referred to instructors and it is created, in order to simplify their instructional process. It is a platform orientated to give the users, the possibility to create a test tool that is differently constructed from the rest tools of examination. It is also providing the possibility of total personalization, on the part of the instructor and simplifies everything that has to do with earning time and effort through the examinational procedure, by creating simply and easily, tests. As it will be referred later, there are a lot of similar tools, relevant to the electronic test creation. A lot of them, though, are more flexible and with more possibilities, but neither have the same purpose nor serve a user, the same way TEST CREATOR does. Some of them provide lower flexibility and usability. TEST CREATOR, refers to instructors and professors who teach in any educational institute, or in more than one and want to have personal “space” in this application. At the same time there is no mingling of the examined persons and the tool. The process needed in order to use this specific object is really simple. This is one of the reasons this tool is considered to be pretty easy to use. By entering the webpage we created, an instructor, can make a new inscription and create a new profile. Also, a person who has already an account should enter the username that already has been provided and a password that he –personally-has chosen. While the already inscribed user or the new user enters his account, by entering the given elements, he is being transferred to a webpage, where he can see exactly what TEST CREATOR is about, the services it provides, what it can support and choose what he wants to do, out of a menu. It is essentially easy and organized to work for an inexperienced user too, while step by step it leads him to every single thing he wants and has to do. It is also safe, because every user has his personal account, in which no one can interfere but him, in order to do any use or modification. TEST CREATOR was created with an online application that uses as a programming language, the language PHP. In order to save every information needed, we had to use databases. For the creation of those databases we have used the special-purpose programming language designed for managing data, SQL. At the online space of TEST CREATOR, there is the possibility to inform many times the tables or even create new ones. The user, with the user-friendly application provided, can inform his profile by changing institutes, adding new lessons, chapters of the lessons and creating new tests with their answers, or even see and use the older, that exist and that are saved in the databases. The following thesis includes four chapters. The first chapter is about the similar systems –similar to TEST CREATOR, that are already used and for some of them there is a report of their characteristics. At the second chapter, the tools used for the creation are presented, including the databases, the Q&A creation language SQL and MySQL which is a free system of management for the databases. It is also presented PHP, the programming language for the creation of websites, The modification language HTML and JavaScript (JS) which is an interpreted computer programming language for computers. At the third chapter, there is an introduction for the manual of TEST CREATOR. There is a detailed analysis and description of every part of this tool, starting from the principal page, the user profile or the creation of a new profile, the creation and the elaboration of a lesson, chapter and his questions and it ends with the creation of the examination and the lesson sharing. At the fourth chapter we refer the future extensions of TEST CREATOR, the results we expect to have from this tool and our conclusions from its functionality.
