Abstract

Η επιτυχής αντιμετώπιση από τη χώρα μας της πρόκλησης της ενιαίας κοινοτικής αγοράς επιβάλλει την ανάγκη εκσυγχρονισμού της οικονομίας και ορθολογικοποίησης της λειτουργίας των ελληνικών επιχειρήσεων. Για την πραγματοποίηση αυτού, εθνικής σημασίας στόχου, είναι απαραίτητο να αξιοποιηθούν όλα τα πλεονεκτήματα των σύγχρονων θεσμών, τους οποίους έχουν υιοθετήσει εδώ και πολλά χρόνια οι αναπτυγμένες χώρες της Ευρώπης και της Β. Αμερικής. Εξάλλου η προσαρμογή των ελληνικών τραπεζών στις ραγδαία μεταβαλλόμενες συνθήκες και ο συνεχής εκσυγχρονισμός τους, με την εφαρμογή των επιτευγμάτων της τεχνολογίας και τον εμπλουτισμό των προσφερόμενων προς την πελατεία τους υπηρεσιών με νέες μορφές εργασιών, αποτελεί όρο επιβίωσής τους στις συνθήκες του συνεχώς εκτεινόμενου ανταγωνισμού.

Leasing is an alternative way of possessing assets and it is a financial tool working side by side with the common banking loans in total and in some ways in competitive with common loans. The growth in Greece of alternative ways of credits (as are factoring, Venture Capital, Forfaiting), is relevant with the liberation of the Banking system and the full growth of competition between financial institutions. Leasing and alternative forms of credit can lead in the pursuit of increase of market shares and profits. The Greek law forbids the application of leasing as a form of finance in the shipping industry, even though it is commonly used in other countries of the World. All countries are using Leasing in the shipping industry, as an alternative way of finance and mostly for liquidity. One of the main concerns in these kind of capital intensive investments is risk and one of the ways of decrease risk in such a huge investment, is the application of the Residual Value Insurance , that is analyzed in this essay.
