| dc.description.abstract | Η εργασία μας αναφέρεται αρχικώς στο θεωρητικό πλαίσιο των συναλλαγματικών ισοτιμιών με ανάλυση της Αγοράς Συναλλάγματος, της Αγοράς Χρήματος, και της Ισοδυναμίας Αγοραστικής Δύναμης. Στην συνέχεια, εστιάζουμε στην εμπειρική διερεύνηση της Ισοδυναμίας Αγοραστικής Δύναμης ως προσδιοριστικού παράγοντα των συναλλαγματικών ισοτιμιών σε βραχυχρόνιο και μακροχρόνιο ορίζοντα στο υπό το πρίσμα των ισοτιμιών EUR/USD και EUR/GBP κατά την χρονική περίοδο 1998-2014. Τα ερευνητικά μας αποτελέσματα απορρίπτουν την θεωρία της Ισοδυναμίας Αγοραστικής Δύναμης και είναι σε συμφωνία με παρόμοιες εμπειρικές μελέτες. | el |
| dc.description.abstract | At the beginning of our thesis we analyse the theoretical framework of the exchange rate under the scope of the Exchange Rate Market, the Money Market, and the Purchasing Power Parity theory. Then, we focus on our empirical investigation of the Purchasing Power Parity as a determinant of exchange rates in the short and long term in the light of the EUR/USD and EUR/GBP exchange rates during the period of 1998-2014. Our empirical results reject the theory of Purchasing Power Parity and are in agreement with similar empirical studies. | en |
